Rustic Rockies Retreat Near Banff & Canmore!

Positive: Helemaal niets. Negative: ALLES! Vies, oud, vervallen. De foto's zijn totaal niet representatief voor de accommodatie. De gedachte dat we in dit vervallen huisje moesten verblijven, slapen, douchen, op blote voeten rondlopen, dat gingen we niet doen. We hebben foto's genomen van de erbarmelijke staat waar dit huisje zich in bevindt en zijn met gierende banden weggereden en hebben een andere accommodatie geboekt. Zelfde geld, maar dan wel meer dan waard. Hier zou ik nog niet willen verblijven als ik er geld voor kreeg!

Wir haben uns unwohl gefühlt und etwas geneppt. Negative: Die Bilder auf booking.com sind sehr geschickt gemacht und geben einen wesentlich besseren Eindruck wieder. Die tatsächliche Lage ist besonders schlecht. Die Bahn und der Highway sind extrem laut. Große Container stehen neben dem Garten. Der Garten ist gefühlt eine Wiese für alle. Das WLAN funktionierte nicht. Unser Ansprechpartner hat uns trotz Benachrichtigung nicht geholfen. Ein zweiter Kühlschrank stand in der kleinen Küche vor dem kaputten Ersten. Die Handtücher waren zu wenige. Ein Spültuch und weitere Kleinigkeiten haben gefehlt. Stellenweise ist wenig Licht und der Gesamteindruck wirkt ungepflegt. Die Lüftung im Bad ist höllenlaut und lässt sich nicht unabhängig vom Licht ein- oder ausschalten.

This is a great, budget-friendly place to sleep and spend your days visiting and exploring the area. Positive: We really loved the cozy, family tiny home feel of this property, which felt much more freeing and affordable than a typical hotel or motel stay. The yard and convenient parking were great additions, and the entire place was clean and well-stocked with almost everything we needed for a comfortable few days. The kitchen was a huge plus, allowing us to easily cook meals instead of constantly eating out. It offers plenty of square footage/meter to keep a small family, young couples, or a small traveling group happy, and you can truly see the care being put into making it a safe, quiet, and quaint home. Negative: It is an older house, and while there is an obvious effort to make it look modern and nice, a few age-related quirks stand out. For instance, the floors are not entirely level in all places, and the bathroom ceiling fan sounds a bit like a commercial jet engine when turned on—though we appreciated that it at least functioned well haha. Additionally, the bathroom could use some extra accessibility support, such as handrails or grab bars, to make it safer and more comfortable for older folks. It works fine for a quick stay of a few days, but a few updates here would definitely help but for the most part everything was fine. Nothing wrong with old school and classic. We would stay here again, and I would notify people to stay here out of convenience and personal preference.

Man fühlt sich schnell zuhause. Die Lage ist perfekt und das Haus super ausgestattet. Positive: Die Lage, die Ausstattung, die Vermieterin. Es war wir bei Oma. Sehr gemütlich!!!

Huckleberry Lodge is a great spot for a mountain getaway at a pretty good value. The accommodation was cozy, the kitchen was fully stocked and ready to cook and *most importantly* the location is ideal - set between Canmore and Banff. Keep in mind that the amenities are pretty old and thus a bit rough around the edges - if you're looking for modern or sleek then this is not the cabin for you. But if you're happy to look past a noisy bathroom fan and some finishes that're past their prime then give Huckleberry Lodge a chance. Thank Tina and Steve!
